Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CRBOH and BCRSP
On June 14, 2024, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) ratified a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygiene (CRBOH).
This new agreement, signed in Moncton, New Brunswick, ahead of the CRBOH Annual General Meeting, provides alternative routes for CRBOH and BCRSP certificants to achieve certification. CRBOH certificants can now apply for certification with the BCRSP through a streamlined process, and vice versa, simplifying the path to examinations for both organizations. The MOU outlines the specific requirements and eligibility criteria. Additionally, the MOU specifies that individuals currently certified by one organization who obtain certification from the other within their continuous professional development cycle will be awarded full requalification credits under the respective processes.
Signing on behalf of CRBOH Chair, Matthew Brewer said: “This partnership is important because it strengthens our commitment to raising professional standards and boosting the collaboration between occupational hygiene and safety professionals. Together, we’re aiming to create a safer, healthier work environment across Canada, which will benefit both our members and the communities we serve. This MOU helps us further this goal, and we’re proud to work with the BCRSP in helping our certificants reach their potential.
Signing on behalf of BCRSP Chair, Paul Belair said: “This agreement is an important step towards greater collaboration in Canada between two highly recognized certification boards and is important benefit for certificants to have a streamlined avenue to obtain certification.”
